SINGAPORE :the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority plans to extend micro-chipping to all newly licensed dogs, including locally bred ones; this measure is already in place for imported dogs (i'm micro-chipped!). With this, the AVA hopes to deter pet abandonment as irresponsible owners can then be traced and enforcement action taken against them.
Each year, some 6,000 dogs and 12,000 cats have to be put to sleep *sob sob*

as far as i know, there are many good-hearted indidviduals who tried to adopt/ feed/ spayed as many stray cats & dogs as possible, with their own money. however, their resources are often limited, and sometimes, unlawful (HDB apartments are allowed only 1 dog of a toy breed or its cross), since 80% of singaporeans stayed in 'pigeon holes' (apartment blocks). and, most strays are not of the 'toy' category.
if only, we can set up a no- kill shelter!

i auditioned for '12th night' earlier in the afternoon today.
i had been memorizing my lines for the past few days, and i thought i will not fumbled through the famous literature play... *sigh* how wrong i was!
i was so nervous prior to the audition, that i started to have panic attack as soon as i started with the 1st few lines!
i felt so silly as i was speechless, and i stared blankly @ the crowd....my face was so red with embarrassment.
i guess, if i ever wanted to act, i'll act as a dumb blonde. i'm throwing away all my shakepeare text books later...i feel so stupid....

this morning, my paw friends called to join them for some doggies' games @ 6pm. they have not seen me these few days. i wanted so much to join them, but mummy & granny couldn't make it to bring me to tampines park.
so, i used my 'persistence' strategy to put my message across. i'll wail, cry & perform 'stunts'....
mummy then called my buddy to do me a favor *giggle*

i know mummy gives in to me, therefore, i dare to bahave like a spoiled brat...er.... ONLY during certain days though... *giggle*
i'm a natural mood detector. i know which days i can stretch her patience & when to avoid direct confrontations...
if mummy isn't in a friendly mood, i'll just sit beside her, and show her my sad look...*evil wink* i can alleviate mummy's physiological stress. just like that.
i'm never rude to mummy...just a VERY over-excited diva.

yes, its the walkathon day today! but,it rained heavily this morning before the event. mummy was afraid i'll fall ill, besides, she knows i hate water...so she decided that we'll start the walkathon later.
however, many pets & their owners started the walkathon despite the pouring rain...
and so, we started 15mins later than the rest...
in the end, tho' i finished the walkathon, i decided not to join my paw friends in the field, because i know that it'll be soggy & wet...hmmmm....

mummy wanted my opinion to take part in a dog's charity walkathon...for every 100metre i walked, mummy will donate $10 to a certain welfare association,in an effort to raise awareness on the plight of abused, homeless and abandoned animals...
i said : YES! but, of coz....
i'm gonna complete the 2 kilometre walk...

it's bad enough that she expressed my anal sacs, BUT she further humiliated me by doing it in the public! and may i remind you that it was administered in the park that i always go to... *growl*

honestly, i've been greatly inspired by those working dogs, when i watched the discovery channel's 'animals' planet'...
they took advantage of their natural instincts and abilities to help law enforcers/ disabled owners to accomplish tasks.
however,it seems pretty tough to earn their 'per diems' (a.k.a FOOD!) ...
well, i'm mighty glad to be a 'toy dog', or you can say: a lounge dog...with all the luxuries...*giggle*
